Seeds of Faith: Trusting God's Growth Process

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
Micah 6:8
"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

A farmer plants seeds and waits. He doesn't dig them up every day to check on progress. He doesn't demand instant results. He understands that growth happens underground, invisibly, over time. "Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how" (Mark 4:27).

Faith works similarly. We plant seeds of obedience, prayer, witness, and service, and trust God for the harvest. The results aren't always immediate or visible. But something is happening beneath the surface.

Jesus frequently used seed and harvest images. "Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds" (John 12:24). Sometimes our seeds must "die" - our plans, our timing, our expectations - before they can produce fruit.

Paul planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6). We have our part, but the growth ultimately depends on God. This takes the pressure off while also calling us to faithfulness in planting.

What seeds have you planted that haven't yet produced visible fruit? Prayers for loved ones? Investments in ministry? Steps of faith? Don't give up. "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up" (Galatians 6:9).

God's timing is not our timing. A harvest is coming. Keep planting seeds of faith, keep watering with prayer, and trust the One who brings the growth. Your patience will be rewarded.
