You are not an accident. No matter the circumstances of your birth or the path your life has taken, God created you intentionally, specifically, and purposefully. "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10).
This truth has profound implications. It means your life has meaning beyond what you can see. It means there are assignments with your name on them, opportunities designed specifically for your gifts and experiences. It means your struggles have purpose - they're shaping you for the calling ahead.
But discovering your purpose requires intentionality. God has given you unique talents, passions, and experiences. Where do these intersect with the needs of the world around you? That's often where purpose is found.
Purpose isn't always glamorous. Sometimes it's faithful service in unglamorous places - raising children, caring for elderly parents, showing up at work with excellence and integrity. Purpose is found in the everyday moments when we choose to honor God with what we've been given.
Jeremiah was told, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations" (Jeremiah 1:5). God knew and called you before you took your first breath. Your purpose was established before you existed.
Are you searching for meaning? Stop looking at what you don't have and start stewarding what you do. Serve where you are. Use your gifts for others' benefit. Seek God's guidance through prayer and His Word. Purpose often becomes clear through faithful obedience in the present moment.
